I’m MTF – how can this help?
Are you tired of hearing “yes, sir” over the phone? This happens because hormones do nothing for the voice. Even after many other biological characteristics change with estrogen, the larynx (voice box) does not change in size and vocal chords retain their mass, length, and vibration patterns. To sound like the woman that you are, you must safely train your voice box to do that which it is not biologically made to do. All the while, your other communication parameters are being feminized through guidance by the speech-language pathologist.
I’m FTM – how can this help?
Have you ever felt your communication style is not “manly” enough? “T” will drop your pitch by changing the size of your larynx (voice box) and shape/mass of your vocal chords. However, your articulation, intonation, volume, rate, vocabulary and/or language may still be judged as feminine sounding without appropriate therapy.
